Five men face charges stemming from a major illegal cannabis bust in Brighton – midway between Toronto and Kingston .
Ontario Provincial Police say a search warrant was executed at a location on Boes Rd. in Brighton on Oct. 27 where officers allegedly found a greenhouse area with illicit cannabis plants in different stages of growth.
The OPP says officers seized a total of 580 illicit cannabis plants and approximately 1,100 pounds of dried illicit cannabis bud with a combined street value estimated at more than $1.6 million.
Junjiang Ke, 51, Nenmei Chen, 62, and Yongzhong Ke, 77, all of Markham, Minghua Xue, 63, of Toronto, and Qiao Quan Chen, 38, of Scarborough, are each charged two offences under the Cannabis Act .
