PALESTINE, Texas (KETK)-- A Palestine man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after a tense confrontation with officers from the Palestine Police Department on Thursday.

According to the Palestine Police Department, officers were called to a home after a concerned neighbor reported that her fence had been torn down and that her neighbor, later identified as Thomas Edward Cade, was attempting to hang himself with a garden hose.

When officers arrived, they found that Cade had also ripped electrical lines from the side of the house. As police tried to make contact, Cade hid behind a fence and thick brush before slowly standing up according to authorities.
