Canvassers in Airdrie hope to begin collecting signatures this weekend, once they receive approved badges from Elections Alberta

Momentum continues to grow behind a grassroots push to unseat multiple United Conservative Party MLAs, with Elections Alberta approving a second recall petition this week and recall efforts expanding to more than 20 ridings across the province.

Airdrie-East resident Derek Keenan is leading the petition to recall MLA Angela Pitt, which was officially approved Wednesday.

Keenan said he and about a dozen canvassers hope to begin collecting signatures this weekend, once they receive approved badges from Elections Alberta.

“As soon as that happens, we’ll start collecting signatures,” Keenan said Thursday.
