MONMOUTH, Ore. - The E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area has unveiled significant improvements to its shotgun range, inspired by the needs of disabled veterans. According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), the upgrades include expanded shooting lanes, additional parking, and improved accessibility for disabled shooters.

The renovations were made possible through federal Wildlife Restoration Act funds. They feature a fully paved ADA-compliant walkway, a covered pole barn with picnic tables, and a solar-powered gate to enhance safety.

"I used to see a group of four Veterans often at E.E. Wilson when I would go out to maintain the shooting and archery range and I was inspired to find a way to improve it, so it would be more accessible," said Jered Goodwin, ODFW Hunter Education Coo
