Two judges handled about 22 proceedings on Friday at the Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort Worth.

The agency set up two temporary courtrooms for their annual Adoption Day event, which brings the court system to their campus to seal the deal for families and celebrate their new additions.

“It’s a very special day, because it kind of ends the adoption journey, if you will," said President and CEO Mark Melson. “This is the time that the court stamps it and says, ‘It’s a finalized adoption, and that’s your child forever and ever and ever.’”

He said many families have been waiting a long time for this moment.
