In addition to events that are restricted to residents of the R. I. Veterans home, there are two Veterans Day observances on Tuesday, Nov. 11 that are open to the public.
The Bristol Veterans Council will hold observances at 8:30 a.m. in the War Garden next to the Burnside Building. Then, at 2 p.m., Kasim Yarn, director of Veterans Services for the state, will visit the Veterans Home, along with other state officials. In past years speakers have included Sen. Jack Reed, Gov.
