OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Former President Joe Biden is coming to the Omaha metro to speak at a Nebraska Democratic Party event on Friday.

Biden will speak at the annual Ben Nelson Gala at the Omaha Hilton near 10th and Cass streets, emceed by Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr.

The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday, with the program and dinner to follow about an hour later. Tickets are sold out.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn , who was on duty during the Jan. 6 attack on the capitol, will also speak at the event.

According to the Nebraska Democratic Party website , the annual fundraiser also celebrates elected officials, candidates, volunteers, and other leaders that further the party.
