FARGO — People in Fargo-Moorhead are getting cheesy for a local charity.
The Holiday Inn in Fargo hosted its second annual mac and cheese contest on Friday, Nov. 7.
Area chefs, food trucks and restaurants all worked to earn the title of the event’s best mac and cheese.
Proceeds from the event go to the United Way of Cass-Clay.
Contest organizers say while it's a fun event to put on, its biggest benefit is the community impact it makes.
“It’s a very fun, delicious event, but at the end of the day, the dollars voting United Way and knowing that we all today possibly help somebody that you don’t realize needs that help right now, that’s absolutely what matters most of all,” said Jae DeWald, director of sales at Holiday Inn Fargo.
