AUSTIN (KXAN) -- For the last 25 years, at least one person has been killed in a traffic crash in Texas every single day. There have been more than 91,000 lives lost since Nov. 7, 2000.
The Texas Department of Transportation is holding a candlelight ceremony with the Texas Department of Public Safety and victims' family members to honor those victims and bring awareness.
TxDOT is asking everyone to work together to end the streak of daily deaths.
The ceremony and news conference will take place on the south steps of the Texas State Capitol at 6 p.m. on Friday and will conclude with a moment of silence under candlelight.
