CROW AGENCY, Mont. – A fifth-grade teacher at Crow Agency Public Schools received an unexpected financial boost to help her classroom educational needs.
Connie Michael, who has taught at the school for over 11 years, was awarded a $27,000 first-place prize from Voya Financial's annual Unsung Hero Awards for her 'Indigi-STEAM' program. This program, which she began six years ago, focuses on engaging students in science and math through hands-on projects.
Angie Keltner, Associate Superintendent of Hardin Public School System, praised Michael's contributions to the classroom. "The things that she brings into the classroom for the students. In regards to the science and technologies and the things that she does is just incredible," said Keltner.
