BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - THE NEXT 24 HOURS: The first big blast of wintry air is on the way! We’ve had a few spotty showers across the area today, but rain has been very hit or miss. The chance for a shower or storm will continue tonight and it will remain milder with lows in the 50s. We can’t rule out an isolated strong storm over north Alabama overnight.

The chance for isolated showers will continue into Saturday, but there will also be plenty of breaks and sunshine in the mix. This will allow temperatures to rise well into the 70s. The fall colors are peaking around the area, and Saturday sure looks like a great day to explore and check out the fall foliage.
