Boil water advisory issued in Pendleton

PENDLETON, S.C. —

A boil water advisory has been issued affecting some customers in Pendleton, South Carolina.

Officials issued an advisory for the following areas:

Kirk Lane (Pendleton Gardens)

Shirley Street

Clark Street

Morse Street

Jackson Street

Hamberg Street

Town of Pendleton

Town of Pendleton

The advisory was issued due to water pressure loss from a water main repair.

Officials said increased sediment in the lines will be flushed and hydrants may be opened. Affected customers are asked to run cold water until the water runs clear.

Water should be vigorously boiled for at least one minute prior to drinking or cooking. Any ice made from water not boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.
