A driver who left the scene of a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Bridgeton last weekend was arrested Thursday, police said.
Brayan Laverde-Torres, 32, of Bridgeton, was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury, hindering apprehension or prosecution and obstructing administration of law or other governmental function, according to a statement from the Bridgeton Police Department.
Officers responded to the intersection of South and Garfield avenues in Bridgeton shortly before 6 p.m. on Nov. 2 for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, the department said.
The 62-year-old Bridgeton man who was hit was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, and was still there as of Thursday afternoon, police
