SHREVEPORT, La. — With cooler temperatures approaching, several local groups teamed up today for a sock drive to help the area's unhoused and unsheltered population.
Organizers, including Barbra Norton, Horseshoe Casino, and Hope Connection, collected donations of new socks. Socks are consistently one of the most requested items at local shelters because they wear out quickly.
Organizers emphasized that this simple donation can make a significant difference in keeping feet warm and dry as the weather turns cold. The event aims to provide comfort and protection to those in need throughout the community.
