LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The National Transportation Safety Board shared more information Friday on the UPS plane crash that left at least 14 people dead, with nine people still unaccounted for.
The crash, which happened around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, caused a massive fire, with giant plumes of smoke spanning a half a mile around the airport. The MD-11 plane crashed during takeoff at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Three crew members were on board. Advertisement
During a briefing on Friday, NTSB spokesperson Todd Inman said a little over 30 seconds after the crew called for takeoff, an alarming sound was heard.
