LOUISVILLE, Ky. — National Transportation Safety Board member Todd Inman shared more details on the timeline of Tuesday's deadly UPS cargo plane crash and fire nearly 72 hours after the incident.
During a Friday afternoon news briefing, Inman said takeoff was normal 37 seconds after thrust before a "repeating bell" was heard. The crew tried to control the aircraft for 25 seconds until the end of the cockpit recording, which is believed to coincide with the crash.
"During this time, the crew engaged in efforts to attempt to control the aircraft," he said.
Inman said investigators have a working theory it's related to an onboard fire, supported by video evidence, but they're waiting on flight data recorder analysis to confirm the exact nature of the alarm. The timeline isn't definitive un
