TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office is warning about a scam that has been seen in our area before: con artists are calling and posing as sheriff’s deputies.
It is hard to believe that a member of the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office would have to issue a warning like this to residents. However, that is what it has come to: a new scam is going around, with someone calling people and impersonating local law enforcement officers, including Lt. Daron Brown.
“Telling them that they have a warrant for their arrest or a civil warrant and that they have to pay them money to make this warrant go away,” Brown said.
The real Lt. Brown said the sheriff’s office will never call you about court matters to ask for money.
