BREWER, Maine (WABI) - Maine Veterans Project and New England Fights team up for veterans.

Local MMA fighter Ed Davis has made it his mission to bring veterans to his fights.

After weigh-ins, he met with close to 20 veterans at Mason’s in Brewer Friday.

He gave each of them one of his fight shirts and tickets for Saturday’s fights at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

“I’ve grown a really good bond with everybody at MVP, and it’s been five fights now that I’ve been getting all the veterans to come out for, lunch and go out to the fights, and I’ve built very good bonds with them as well, so like, for me, the fight in the cage is nothing compared to what they have done for us.”
