In a bid to combat the growing threat of cervical cancer, the Sikkim government will soon roll out a free vaccination drive for girls above 14 years of age.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced that, starting from April next year, free cervical cancer vaccinations will be provided to girls aged 14 and under, and free self-testing kits will be made available to women aged 30 to 65.
Tamang said the programme reflects the SKM government’s strong commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of Sikkimese women, adding that preventive healthcare will remain a key priority for the state.
