HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An arrest has been made in a murder that's sat unsolved for more than nine years.

Henry Ibanez was arrested on Wednesday and charged with the 2016 murder of Emanuel Carrillo outside a north Houston house, according to court records.

"I thought that this was never gonna happen, that we were not gonna get this phone call that he's already in jail," the victim's sister, Lilly Hinojosa, said.

Carrillo was shot dead in a driveway on McDaniel Street near the Hardy Toll Road on May 21, 2016.

Another man was also hit but survived his injuries.

Carrillo's family said he had gone to a friend's house to help his friend's sister, whose ex-boyfriend had shown up and was threatening to set a car on fire.
