HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The City of Houston is preparing to pay tribute to our men and women in the military through its annual " Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration ."

On Tuesday, the public is invited to join the festivities in downtown Houston.

It all starts with a traditional Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. that will include acknowledgements and keynote speaker, Sgt. Major Angela Maness , U.S. Marine Corps, Retired.

In addition, expect a moment of silence in memory of the signing of the Armistice, which ended WWI.

The American Heroes Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Dallas and Bagby. It will proceed east on Dallas, north on Louisiana, west on Walker, south on Smith, west on Lamar, ending on Lamar at Bagby.

All are welcome along the parade route.
