North Allegheny came limping into the postseason, wobbling like an old card table. The Tigers ended the regular season with two consecutive losses, one by 67 points.
But North Allegheny apparently found its legs again during a week off.
North Allegheny was idle a week ago, but the Tigers stood tall Friday night and ran away from visiting Norwin 35-17 in a WPIAL Class 6A semifinal.
The win puts North Allegheny (8-3) into the Class 6A championship game against Central Catholic, which defeated Canon-McMillan 44-7 in the other semifinal. It will be the fifth time in six seasons North Allegheny and Central Catholic have squared off for the title and will be North Allegheny’s eighth championship appearance under Art Walker.
