MINOT, ND (KXNET) — The Minot City Council voted Monday to move forward with the idea to remodel the police station, voting unanimously to allow the city to start searching for a company to carry out the project.

The city will now begin searching for an architectural and engineering firm as they continue to plan the renovation.

City Engineer Lance Meyer, who put together a Request for Quote — a document used to ask firms the price of a project — for the renovation, said he intends the project to have several check-ins.

Meyer said this will be similar to the city hall project, and it will allow for the city council to control the budget and scope of the renovation.
