BOISE, Idaho — A 77-year-old Parma woman died Friday evening after being involved in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 20-26 west of Notus, according to Idaho State Police (ISP) .

The crash happened around 6:19 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 20-26 and Purple Sage Road.

ISP said the woman was driving a blue 2013 Cadillac SRX westbound on U.S. 20-26 when she left her lane into oncoming traffic, and crashed head-on into a white Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 67-year-old Caldwell man traveling eastbound.

The woman died at the scene, police said.

ISP stated that the driver of the Silverado was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

Police are still investigating the crash. The woman's name has not been released to the public.
