GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A Kentucky man charged with kidnapping a 14-year-old girl who willingly left with him now faces eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

Chayleang Tiang, 42, has been held without bond in the Ionia County Correctional Center since July on charges of kidnapping and multiple counts of third- and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

This week, he was indicted in federal court on the eight exploitation charges, which carry a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 15 years and up to 30, upon conviction.

The indictment said that from May 17 to July 5 Tiang persuaded an Ionia County girl to expose herself or perform sex acts, often over FaceTime which he would record.

According to the indictment, Tiang used online platforms to manipulate the girl.
