GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Police have arrested a man who tried to flee after crashing into a Grand Rapids Walgreens store.

The store was closed with no one was inside at the time of the crash, police say.

The crash damaged the front doors, windows and brickwork, according to a photograph released by Sheriff’s officials

The vehicle, a sedan, sustained significant front-end damage, as seen in the photograph.

The driver fled the scene and was quickly located by police and arrested, according to the release.

He is currently lodged at the Kent County Jail awaiting arraignment on multiple charges, including operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash.
