Agartala, 8 th November 2025: While the state government continues to trumpet its development agenda, ground realities in Brahmachhara village tell a different story. A long-awaited road repair project in the agriculturally vital region of the Teliamura RD Block has come to a standstill following alleged political interference by local BJP workers.

The controversy erupted on Friday when nearly 20 BJP workers from the Krishnapur Mandal reportedly arrived on motorcycles and ordered the immediate suspension of the roadwork. Their demand: the contractor must first report to the Mandal office and await further instructions before resuming any work. Without such clearance, they warned, the project would remain halted.
