BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WFSB) - Police are investigating a crash in Bridgeport that left a man with serious injuries on Friday night.

At around 11:35 p.m. officers were called to the area of Broad Street and Railroad Avenue after a report of a man shouting that he needed an ambulance, the police department said.

When crews arrived, they found a 34-year-old Bridgeport man who suffered serious head injuries.

He was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition.

Following an investigation, it was revealed that the victim was a passenger on a scooter when the driver suddenly lost control on wet pavement and crashes near the intersection of Broad Street and Railroad Avenue.

Officials said both the driver and the passenger fell to the ground due to the impact.
