Chief Assessor Randy Waggoner reported that the county’s long-awaited reassessment appeal hearings were nearing completion. He expressed optimism that most property owners would see their taxes decrease or remain the same under the forthcoming revenue-neutral millage rate.

During their Oct. 20 meeting, county commissioners praised Waggoner’s team for conducting more than 60 appeal hearings in a single week and for maintaining professionalism throughout the process.

Commissioners accepted the resignation of Assistant District Attorney Tammy Dusharm, effective Oct. 17. They thanked her for her service.

David Counsil was welcomed as the new executive director of Neighbor Helping Neighbor Food Bank . He and board chairman Fred Rudy gave an update on the growing demand for food assistance.
