A man was attacked by a five-strong gang in the street.
The victim was kicked and punched by up to five people in Cheetham Hill yesterday afternoon, police said. A 28-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of assault, violent disorder, possessing an offensive weapon and possessing cocaine.
Police said the victim has not yet been identified. Anyone with information is being asked to come forward.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Cheetham Hill.
