PHOENIX — Is Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes on the brink of ending her prosecution of the so-called “fake electors”?
After courtroom setbacks that could force her to seek new indictments , Mayes now faces a deadline less than two weeks away - on Nov. 21 - to either revive the case or allow it to be dismissed.
Mayes’ comments during an interview on this weekend’s “Sunday Square Off” suggest she's poised to drop the case.
She declined to say what her decision would be, but Mayes defended her staff and their work in the past tense.
'Proud of work we did'
“The one thing I do know for sure is that I am so proud of the prosecutors and investigators in the Attorney General's office,” Mayes said, “and I'm proud of the work we did on that case.”
When reminded of her fierce defense
