Victor Cruz-Gamez was released from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Tacoma Friday after being held for almost a month , according to a statement from Rep. Suzanne Bonamici’s office.

Cruz-Gamez, a 55-year-old Hillsboro resident who owns a home remodeling business, was arrested by ICE agents on Oct. 14, family members said. He was released on a $3,000 bond Friday afternoon after an order from a federal district court judge.

ICE officers were apparently looking for another person named Victor Cruz with a history of drunk driving, according to Cruz-Gamez’s daughter, Atziri Cruz.

Cruz-Gamez has legal work authorization and a pending visa claim, according to the statement from Bonamici’s office.
