ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced on Saturday evening that southbound US-131 is back open from 100th Street to 142nd Avenue in Allegan County.
A portion of the highway had been closed since the evening of Nov. 3 after a semi truck hit the 146th Avenue bridge.
The 146th Street overpass is still closed to traffic.
The Allegan County Sheriff's Office said a semi was headed southbound carrying a piece of heavy machinery. It hit the overpass around 6 p.m.
Deputies said there were no injuries in the incident.
A different semi truck hit the bridge back in August. The freeway was closed for almost a week after that incident.
