LA CENTER — As the saying goes, it’s not about how you start, but how you finish.
The La Center football team made the most of their finish Saturday by scoring three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to get past Granite Falls 28-7 in the Class 1A state preliminary round at La Center Community Stadium.
One great quarter was enough to get the Wildcats (8-2) into the 1A state playoffs for a fourth consecutive season, but it’s the first three where they hope to find better success come next week.
“I wish we’d start the game like that,” La Center coach John Lambert said. “That’s been the theme for us this year, where we just wait until something bad happens (and) we’re like, ‘OK, time to go.'”
