Syracuse, N.Y. — A woman was taken to the hospital after being shot Saturday night in Syracuse, according to dispatches from the Onondaga County 911 Center.

Around 11:56 p.m., a woman called police and said her sister had been shot in the leg, dispatches said.

The women were inside a house at 2616 Midland Ave. in Syracuse but told police the shooting did not happen there, according to dispatches.

Police said the victim was conscious and breathing with a gunshot wound to her leg. She was taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital.
