The ongoing saga of the stray cat and her five kittens has left much joy in my heart. From the day the starving cat came to the back porch until the day two months later, Mother Nature’s instincts have been mesmerizing.

I share this story of a mother cat’s love and survival with the hope that people will read it and take kindlier to our overwhelming cat population.

I didn’t have the foggiest notion that the hungry cat had five little mouths to feed. I gave her a can of food that she ate ravenously so I gave her a second can. That, too, was devoured.

I named the cat Hope because it seemed to be a good fit for a hungry cat grateful for food.

I intended to take her to Dr. Bill, thinking something must be terribly wrong with her stomach, but before that was done, she brought little cluster
