BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Behind a strong cold front, breezy conditions remain in place today as much colder air rushes in. Temperatures will drop sharply overnight, with freezing conditions expected by Tuesday morning.
TODAY’S FORECAST
It will be windy today behind the front, ushering in colder air from the north. Sustained winds from the north at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts of 25 mph or higher, will make it feel even colder through the afternoon.
Temperatures will drop quickly after dark, reaching the mid to upper 30s. With the blustery winds, wind chills will feel more like the low to mid-30s, and possibly the upper 20s north of the I-10/I-12 corridor.
The strong winds tonight will also help prevent widespread frost from forming.
