(WSPA) - With temperatures expected to dip to near or below freezing this week, cold weather shelters are opening their doors.

Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing on Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the 40's across the Upstate. Lower temperatures and a chance of snow are projected for the mountains and higher elevation areas.

Multiple shelters are opening their doors to give people a place to stay warm.

Miracle Hill Ministries announced last week plans for severe weather shelters in Cherokee, Spartanburg and Greenville Counties.

Miracle Hill said the Greenville Rescue Mission on Washington Street is open to men only, and the Shepherd's Gate shelter on Regency Hill Drive is open to women and mothers with children.
