A dad-of-four was left paralysed from the neck down and unable to ever walk again after a devastating car crash on the school run.

Mat Holten, 45, was in the car with his wife Kristina Holten, 41, after dropping off their twin 12-year-old boys at school when a car pulled out into the main road they were on.

The dad tried to swerve but ended up clipping the front of the car and crashing into a wall on the right-hand side of the road.

The impact caused the car to roll over, explained Mat's brother Mark Holten, 48, and Mat was stuck in the car upside down unable to feel his legs, while Kristina managed to get herself out of the car.
