WEST PLAINS, Mo. — A man has died following a fatal shooting in West Plains on Saturday, November 8.

According to a West Plains Police Department social media post, a 23-year-old man has died after officers' response around 7:33 p.m. on the 2600 block of Paula Drive in West Plains on Saturday.

Law enforcement stated that when they arrived on the scene, they found the man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound, and he was later pronounced deceased.

A suspect involved in the incident was identified by authorities and interviewed by investigators. The individual was eventually released pending the filing of formal charges.

Investigators say there is currently no ongoing threat to the public and that the investigation remains active.
