It’s been six years since Westview Centre 4 Women’s last Christmas Show, but the return of the event this past weekend made the years fall away.
The show at the the Merritton Legion, Branch 138 on Saturday had a variety of acts on the playbill including song and dance routines, as well as women reciting stories and telling a few jokes.
It was the first time the show had been organized since 2019, and the first since the centre became a registered charitable organization in 2023.
“The girls were very nervous,” said Deb Waggoner, the centre’s board chair. “But we told them, we are family, we are friends. Just go up there and have fun.”
And they did, while the estimated 75 people taking in the program, including St. Catharines Mayor Mat Siscoe, wildly applauded the various acts.
