MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Warming Center will open on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 10 p.m. due to the drop in temperatures.

It is located at the First Baptist Church on the northeast corner of Poplar Ave. and East Parkway, with the entrance on Poplar.

The warming center will be open from 10 p.m. Sunday until 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10.

Transportation to the Warming Center is operated by MATA. Requests can be made by calling 901-486-0939 during Warming Center hours.

Sack meals and blankets will be provided while supplies last.

Guests will need to check in upon arrival, but IDs are not required.

The Hospitality Hub and the city of Memphis are collecting twin-size, fleece blankets during November. They have a goal to collect 700 blankets by Dec. 1.
