The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 1:36 a.m. on Monday in effect until Tuesday at 1 p.m. for Southern Erie and Cattaraugus County.
The weather service says to prepare for, "Additional snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches in the most persistent lake snows."
"Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes," comments the weather service. "Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities."
