The death of a man accused of molesting a boy at a Scots campsite has been confirmed by police as non-suspicious.
John Bell died at HMP Inverness on Saturday, November 8. The 44-year-old had been charged with sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy at the campsite near Loch Ness in July.
The child was allegedly approached within his tent before being attacked while his parents camped nearby. The boy's father woke up after hearing his son's distress and reported seeing the alleged attacker flee the scene - sparking a major police investigation.
Police traced Bell, of Grangemouth, and charged him in September. When he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court he made no plea., reports the Record .
