Good Monday morning, New Jersey! We’re starting the week with mild temperatures, but don’t let that fool you — colder air is on the way.
As of 4:30 a.m., it’s about 55 degrees at Lyons Avenue and Bergen Street in Newark, but according to forecasters, temperatures will tumble through the day as a cold front moves across the region.
Light rain early this morning will give way to clearing skies, but cooler air will settle in behind it.
If you’re heading out, keep that jacket or coat close — the temperature will drop noticeably by afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service:
Today: Showers likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with temperatures rising to near 54 by 11 a.m. before falling to around 46 later in the day.
