The Amherstview Lions Club Santa Claus Parade pushed through snow, ice pellets and freezing rain on Sunday for a small but spirited crowd.
The colder temperature and face-stinging precipitation couldn’t deter the many floats and waving fans standing and sitting curbside for the annual tradition.

The Loyalist Township Fire Department (LTFD) led the parade as it rolled down Manitou Crescent at around 1:20 p.m.
Keli Grant, a firefighter, had the day off from the LTFD to take his family to the parade. His two children, Oakley and Navy, and grandma, Melody Grant, huddled in a kids’ wagon with blankets curbside, waiting for the jolly man in the red suit to arrive.
Melody Grant said it is a long-standing tradition to watch the parade but said it was a week late this year.
