SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - Two children have died, and a father is still missing after a kayak capsized on the Trinity River.
On Sunday evening, two children were kayaking when choppy river conditions caused the boat to overturn, sending both children underwater. Authorities say the father then entered the water in an attempt to rescue his son and his son’s friend, but he did not resurface.
The bodies of both children were recovered Sunday evening by responding agencies, but the search for the father was suspended overnight until 7 a.m. on Monday. The names of the children who died are not being shared at this time.
