Nevada State Parks will celebrate the grand opening of the new Valley of Fire Visitor Center on Saturday at Valley of Fire State Park.

The project represents a more than $30 million investment in preserving Nevada's natural and cultural heritage.

The facility was made possible through a public-private partnership, including a $7 million grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust and a matching $8 million investment from the Conserve Nevada Program, officials said today in a news release.

The 46,000-acres Valley of Fire State Park is located about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas in the Mojave Desert.
