PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A former Pierce County major facing DUI charges from a July crash appeared in a courtroom on Monday morning.
Chad Dickerson was charged in October with two counts of vehicular assault with a DUI enhancement for an injury crash on July 12. Dickerson pleaded not guilty and was released on his own personal recognizance. He will have to install a DUI lock device on his car and not contact any victims or witnesses in his case, including the deputies who were at the scene after the crash.
The head of Pierce County's criminal investigation division and a 24-year veteran of the Pierce County Sheriff's Office (PCSO), Dickerson retired in October.
Dickerson's next court appearance is scheduled for December 11.
