MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The mayor of Gallaway, Tennessee, was arrested after deputies say they found crack cocaine in his possession during a traffic stop last Friday on Highway 59 South.
Jamie Mayo, 65, was charged with drug possession, manufacturing/delivering/selling a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $10,000.
Tipton County deputies say they found .25 grams of crack cocaine under the passenger seat of a vehicle where he was sitting.
Deputies say they saw a red Dodge Ram 1500 driving northbound on Highway 59 South around 10:27 p.m. with dark window tint and non-functioning tag lights.
A traffic stop was then conducted.
